Stanley R. Mowiser, age 85, of Osceola, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend. Stanley was born February 16, 1928 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Ralph M. and Wavie (O''Blenis) Mowiser. On February 5, 1949, he married Kazuko "Kay" Mowiser in Tokyo, Japan. She preceded him in death, passing away in March of 2008.
Surviving are his daughters, Margaret (Carl) Juroff of Osceola, Indiana, Teresa (Jerry) Sanders of Carol Stream, Illinois, Susan Brady of Van Buren, Arkansas, and his daughter-in-law, Kathy Mowiser of LaPorte, Indiana. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren; Jennifer Roth, Jeff (Kris) Brady, Matt (Lori) Brady, Chris (Sarah) Juroff, Jayme Sanders, Katie (Eric DeLeon) Sanders and Michael Mowiser Jr. Surviving as well are 12 great grandchildren Stanley was preceded in death by his daughter Nancy Wiegner and his son, Michael Mowiser.
Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the 4:00 pm memorial service on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Stanley enlisted in the US Army in 1946, and spent 20 years in active duty before his retirement. He then served another 15 years in the Army National Guard. Following his duty to his country, he was employed for many years in sales throughout the area. He was an avid collector and loved Notre Dame and Chicago Bears football. Stanley also enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports.
In his memory, donations may be given to the Center for Hospice.
