Stephen Nicholas Borsodi, 92, of South Bend, passed away at his home on November 28, 2021.  Born to Nicholas and Irene (Kovach) on June 25, 1929, he was the oldest of their ten children.  Three siblings survive him, brothers Tim (Sandy) and Nick (Kathi), and sister Sue.

Married to Barbara (Houck) for 69 years, they raised two children, Laurie (Mike) Salinger and Tom (Deb) Borsodi.  Granddaughter, Dana Salinger, rounds out the family.

Steve worked at Kreamo Bakery in South Bend for 46 years but also enjoyed his retirement.  He and Barbara cruised to Alaska, and traveled to Hawaii, Florida, Texas, Pennsylvania, and Arizona, visiting friends and family.  His best stories came from camping trips with his brothers in northern Minnesota.

Also during retirement he started walking.  Every morning, late into his 80s, he walked a four mile circuit.  You might have passed him on US 31 between Darden Rd. and Cleveland Rd.

A generous heart, a ready story and quick laugh, Steve never knew a stranger.

Graveside service will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens on December 2, 2021 at 2:30 PM.
