Steven Wayne Strange, 72, of Elkhart, Indiana, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on January 31, 2026, at the Center for Hospice Raclin House in Mishawaka, Indiana, surrounded by his loving family.

Steven was born on October 6, 1953, in Osceola, Arkansas, to the late John and Ruth Massie (Lemley) Strange. He was a proud graduate of Havelock High School in Havelock, North Carolina, Class of 1971. Steven dedicated many years of hard work as a steel worker at I/N Tek, retiring in 2017. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Denise Elliot.

On October 31, 1986, Steven married the love of his life, Kitty Marie Beeson, in South Bend, Indiana. Together they shared 39 years of love, laughter, and companionship. Steven had a deep appreciation for cars, music, and reading, and he and Kitty especially enjoyed attending and participating in car shows together.

Steven is lovingly remembered by his wife, Kitty Strange; his children, Thomas and Phoebe Strange, Christina and Jim Sherwood, Christie Churchill, Peter Cisna, and Mark Raszipovits; and his cherished grandchildren, Kierstynn (Chance) Strange, Logan (Patsy) Strange, Kyle (Carol-Ann) Sherwood, Caitlyn Cisna, Brianna McCreery, and Cody Tackett. He was blessed to be a great-grandfather to Kairi Strange and Octavia.

He is also survived by his brothers, Chuck (Beth) Strange and David Strange; his sisters, Ramona "Cheryl" Strange and Linda (Jerry) Wendt; along with numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and associates who will miss him dearly.
