Obituary

Sung Hee Jung Kellner, age 66, of Mishawaka, passed away June 6, 2012 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend. Sung Hee was born December 25, 1945 in IpChun-ri, Gyeongsangbuk province, Korea. She was the daughter of the late Jung JooYoung and Yoo BoonSook. On June 4, 1983, she was married to Paul B. Kellner. They had celebrated 29 years of marriage.
Paul survives, along with their children, Fred J. Kellner of Medford, MA, and Paul A. Kellner of South Bend, IN. Also surviving is her brother Jung SungKwa of Seoul, South Korea. She was preceded in death by her siblings Jung SungDae of Pusan, South Korea and Jung HwaJa of Seoul, South Korea.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm Friday, June 15, 2012 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola. There will be one hour of calling prior to the 10:00 am funeral service on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at the Michiana Korean Church, 29400 CR 10, Elkhart, IN 46514.
Sung Hee was a licensed practical nurse in Korea. After coming to America, she obtained her Bachelors Degree in Christian Education from Washington Bible College in Maryland and her Master''s Degree in Church Growth and Christian Education from Wheaton College in Illinois. She was certified to teach in Chicago, Utah, and Indiana.
She was a first grade teacher at Hibbard Elementary School in Chicago. She was also a special education teacher at Brown and Edison Schools in the South Bend School Corporation for over 15 years. While teaching at Brown school, she received the "Teacher of the Year" award.
She enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening and canning, as well as singing and reading the Bible. She was involved with Child Evangelism Fellowship while living in Korea. She was the director of Korean Christian Education Missions while living in Chicago, and was a past member of the Michiana Korean Church where she served as a deacon.
