Sylvia L. Kitson went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, April 22, 2017. She was 93 years young. She was born in Cambridge, England to Alan Golding and Gladys (Moore) Golding. As a young woman in England, she met a young American soldier and they soon married and came to America. Sylvia was a successful Avon lady for well over 50 years, serving many clients in surrounding counties. Many of her clients soon became more than just her clients. They became her friends as well. She also spent over 30 years as a waitress at Papa Joe''s Italian Restaurant in Mishawaka. Her customers knew her well (because she was the only waitress with a British accent) and would often come to the restaurant just to see her. Some of her other accomplishments include obtaining her American citizenship in 1948, and at the ripe age of 70 she earned her GED. Sylvia was also an avid Wheel of Fortune fan and was quick at solving the puzzles. Many times, faster than her friends and family would. She was quick witted and loved to reminisce with her family and friends as well. Her mind never failed her. Sylvia is survived by her four daughters; Beverly (Harry) McDaniel, Brenda (Harold) Floyd, both of Mishawaka, IN. Paula (Brad) Bollman of Bristol, IN and Diane McGillem of Osceola, IN. Also leaving to cherish her memory are her grandchildren; Sue Ciesiolka, Kelly Williams, Jodi Kenaga, Dave Buck, Chris Buck, Jeff Buck, Tony McGillem and Carrie Sanchez. A granddaughter, Terri Barber preceded her in death. Sylvia also leaves behind several great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. Sylvia was a member of New Life Church in Osceola, IN for several years. She loved attending regular Sunday services as well as the Christmas programs. We are thankful that many years ago, she gave her life to Christ. Viewing services will be at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, IN on Thursday, April 27th from 2pm-4pm and also 6pm-8pm. Funeral services will be on Friday, April 28th at 11:00am at Chapel Hill with Rev. Dr. Mike Cramer conducting the services. Burial will be immediately follow the funeral service at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
