Obituary

Elkhart - Taylor Dunn JR., 92, of Elkhart, transited on Friday, September 20, 2024, at 6:42 PM. at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center after a period of declining health with his loving family beside him.

Taylor was born to the late Taylor and Roberta (Williams) Dunn Sr. on February 6, 1932, in Chicago, IL. He graduated from Wendell Phillips High School in Chicago, IL. He enlisted into the U.S. Air Force at the age of 25 years old and became an accountant. He retired from the US Air Force after serving more than 20 years. Taylor was a resident of Elkhart, IN for 51 years. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked at the Post office and later at Atwood Mobile Products. Taylor was an elder in the Church of God in Christ. He was an avid reader and read the Bible many of times.  Taylor was also a commercial cleaner for many businesses.

He is survived by a loving and caring daughter, Amaryllis M. Dunn of Elkhart IN, a dearly beloved younger sister, Lorraine Hobbs, of Indianapolis, IN. 5 awesome grandchildren,  LaVeon S. Smith, Nicole M. (Christopher) Fisher of Elkhart, IN., Tavara M. (Dominic) Rogers, Anthony L. Brown of Victorville, CA. Tedric T. Brown of Fontana, CA. and 16 blessed great-grandchildren Da'Montez A. Smith, De'Asia M. Parks, Odyssey S. Avila, Da'Riese M. Smith, Da'Mir L. Fisher, unborn Fisher baby of Elkhart, IN., Ja'Kai S. Smith of Atlanta, GA., Tyrone A. Jackson, Tyra Ann M. Jackson, Tyaire' A. Jackson, Sariel D. Rogers of Victorville, CA., Jeremiah J. Brown, Noire' S. Brown of Moreno Valley, CA., Tedric T. Brown JR., Lenique M.M. Brown, Tahj A. Brown of Mesa, AZ., and a numerous of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Taylor was preceded in death by his ex-wife, Rozella M. Tillman, a daughter Winifred R. Brown, a grandson, Lamar D. Smith, a brother, Leon Dunn, two sisters, Bertha M. Barnes and Alma L. Willis, a niece Michelle Young, five nephews Steven Dunn, Lester D. Barnes, Torrance Dunn, Harrold Hobbs, and Jetton' Barnes.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Osceola, IN.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at 12:00 PM with Reverend Juard Barnes officiating at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Osceola, IN.

US Air Force graveside honors services will be rendered immediately following the funeral service at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, IN.

Memorials may be given to a local veteran's charitable organization.

Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Osceola, IN is in charge of arrangements.
