Mishawaka – Terry Ann Gray, 77, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2026, at the Center for Hospice Raclin House, with her loving friend by her side.

Born on February 9, 1949, in Plymouth, Indiana, Terry was the daughter of the late Frank James and Helen Mabel (Gill James) Chambers. She was a proud graduate of Penn High School, Class of 1967. She was also preceded in death by her brother, James Gray.

Terry is survived by her son, Robert Clark; her sister, Jean "Frankie" Wingert; her very special friend and chosen family, Karen "KK" Hoffman; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, and former coworkers. She also leaves behind her cherished "granddoggers," Ruby Doo, Alfy Doo, and Emmy, who brought her endless joy.

To those who knew her best, Terry was much more than a friend—she was like a second mom, a confidante, and a best friend. She had a generous heart and would help anyone in need without hesitation. There truly wasn't a selfish bone in her body.

Terry found happiness in life's simple pleasures. She loved decorating her home, caring for her plants, treasure hunting at Goodwill and garage sales, listening to music, and watching classic television shows and old Westerns. She took great pride in keeping a beautifully manicured lawn, adored the color purple, and never turned down hot wings, pizza, chocolate ice cream, or a Boston cream doughnut with her morning coffee—or as a late-night treat.

She enjoyed sharing stories from her younger days, especially memories from her years as a bartender. Of all the taverns where she worked, Midway Tavern held a special place in her heart. She loved dressing up, doing her hair, makeup, and nails, wearing pretty dresses and heels, and enjoying a cold beer with friends.

Terry also expressed her love through cooking. Family and friends fondly remember her homemade meals, including spaghetti, tacos, ham and beans, okra and tomatoes, black-eyed peas, and lima beans. She was grateful for the kindness shown to her through Meals on Wheels, yet she always treasured preparing a home-cooked meal whenever she could.

Throughout her life, Terry endured remarkable physical challenges, suffering numerous broken bones over the years. Even so, she faced each obstacle with resilience, determination, and a sense of humor. She affectionately nicknamed her rolling walker "Harley," and laughed about the occasional tree frogs that somehow found their way into her home. She chose to make the best life she could, rarely complaining and always finding reasons to smile.

In keeping with Terry's wishes, no funeral services will be held. She will be laid to rest at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola, Indiana. Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola has been entrusted with her arrangements.

Terry's kindness, laughter, generosity, and unwavering love for family and friends will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
