Obituary

ELKHART - Thelma Shaw, 91, passed away at the Elkhart Hospice House Wednesday in Elkhart. Thelma was born in Flemington PA, to her parents Torrence Shade and Ella Mae Walker. Thelma had lived a full life and was married to James Shaw II for 66 years. She worked at Penn Control. She was a member of St. Vincent''s DePaul Catholic Church in Elkhart. Thelma enjoyed playing Bingo, the Chicago Cubs, fishing, flea marketing, crocheting, making wooden lawn ornaments, and traveling. She enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, Alaska, Corpus Christi, Texas and Florida, and she liked to go to Walt Disney World. Thelma was preceded in death by her husband James Shaw II, her son Robert Shaw, her daughters Mary Ella (Luther) Winter, Pearl Shaw, brother Raymond Shade, and sisters Mary Bardo and Ester Styers. Thelma is survived by her sons Earl (Vicky) Shaw, James "Jamie" Shaw III, her daughter Linda Betzer, many grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Chapel Hill Funeral Home located 10776 McKinley Highway Osceola, Indiana on Wednesday December 2nd from 4:00 - 8:00pm with a Rosary Service at 7:00pm A prayer service will be Thursday at 10:00am with Father Zak Barry officiating with a one hour prior calling starting at 9:00am at the funeral home. Internment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family''s preferred memorial is the American Heart Association/ American Stroke Association 3816 Paysphere Circle Chicago, IL 60674.
