Thomas R. Donovan, 60, of Elkhart, died Tuesday January 16, 2018. A native of Melrose Park IL, he was born April 22, 1957 to Raymond A. Novak & Willie Mae (Anderson) Novak Donovan and graduated from Penn High School with the Class of 75.
Tom was the owner/operator of Donovan Auto Craft in Mishawaka; he was a Certified Master Mechanic and member of the Sports Car Club of America. Tom was a former hockey player & coach and was a fan of the Chicago Blackhawks and Notre Dame football. He also served as an EMT and volunteer firefighter in Arizona. Known as a man of integrity, he was faithful and selfless; he was baptized as a teen and was a devoted reader of the Bible.
Tom was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Novak and his step-dad, Raymond Donovan. He is survived by his wife, Merliza Donovan and his children, Raymond Donovan, stationed with the US Army in North Pole AK, Richard (Ashley) Kirkpatrick of Granger, Lanessa Kirkpatrick of Plymouth, and Elysa Jane & John Lester E. Tano, both of Elkhart; his mother, Willie Donovan of Mishawaka; grandchildren, Alaysha Jackson of Plymouth & Logan Kirkpatrick of Granger, and his sister, Judy (Keith) Byars of Mishawaka.
Funeral Services 10:30 Saturday January 20, 2018 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy. Friends may call Friday from 4-8pm in the funeral home.
