Thomas Lee Hartgrove, 81, of South Bend, died at 7:10 pm, Sunday, October 19, 2014 in the Sanctuary at Holy Cross. Tom was born on September 18, 1933 in Logansport, IN, the son of the late Louis Poore and Helen (Hower) Pawlick. On September 25, 1955, he married Judith L. Berndt. She died on September 24, 2007. He is also preceded in death by a grandson, Brett Bays and a brother, Gary Pawlick. He is survived by a daughter, Vivian (Forrest) McCormack of Mishawaka and a son, Jeffery (Vicki) Hartgrove of South Bend; five grandchildren, April (Brian) Sauders of Indianapolis, Justin (Jan) Hartgrove of Mishawaka, Tabatha Bradbury of South Bend, James Bradbury of South Bend, and Tony Bradbury of South Bend; and six great grandchildren, Ava Sauders, Amelia Sauders, Mayzie Hartgrove, Hayven Bradbury, Alexia Bradbury and Anthony Bradbury. Tom proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1957. Tom and Judy loved to go out dancing to Big Band music. He was a member of the auto club "Still Cruzin" with his prized 1936 Ford. He loved to spend time with family, and in his wallet, the only photos he carried were of his grandchildren and his ''36 Ford. There will be no visitation or services. Cremation has taken place. A memorial dinner will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, November 15, 2014 in Knight of Columbus, 61533 Ironwood Road, South Bend.
