Tomasita "Tommie" Tate, 59, of South Bend, passed away at 12:09 am, Monday, November 22, 2010 in St. Joseph County Hospice House surrounded by family. Tommie was born on October 25, 1951 in Lockney, TX to the late Tomas and Candelaria (Nino) Coy.
Tommie was a graduate of Goshen High School and received an Accounting Certificate from Brown Mackie College. She has been working at Utilimaster since 2003 and was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Free Church.
She is survived by four children, Daniel Medina of Los Angeles, CA, Victor (Lisa) Medina, Jr. of Glendale, AZ, Claudia (Ryan) Asprion of San Diego, CA and Laura (Aaron) Griffin Witt of South Bend; eight grandchildren, Daniel, Jr., Kalel, Timothy, Evan, Olivia, Corra, John and Noel. She is also survived by one brother, Daniel Coy of Orlando, FL and five sisters, Eva Rangel of Edinburg, TX, Nellie Hernandez of Elkhart, Marianna Hernandez of South Bend, Marta Arizmendi of South Bend and Celina Ochoa of Austin, TX and special friends, Donald Tate and Donna Ring.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, November 27, 2010 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy, Osceola with burial of ashes to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
