Obituary

Toni Banghart, 69, of Elkhart, passed away on April 13, 2026, at Elkhart General Hospital, surrounded by the love that she so freely gave throughout her life.

She was born March 24, 1957, in South Bend to Charles and Olive (Cooper) Querry. Toni spent her life in the Michiana area, where she built a life centered on family, love, and the simple joys of everyday moments.

Toni was kind-hearted, full of laughter, and deeply loving. Though quiet, she had a gentle presence and a warm smile that made others feel at ease. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, spending time outdoors, and being with her beloved dogs, Nova and Isabella.

Her family meant everything to her. She lovingly raised her niece, LaTasha White, as her own from the age of five. She was a devoted mother to Brittany (Christopher) Johnston and Randy Banghart, Jr., and a proud grandmother to Sophia Vega, Rylan Johnston, Reece Johnston, Charlotte Johnston, Kalina Banghart, Colson Banghart, and Aubree Langle.

Toni enjoyed bingo, camping, and cheering on Notre Dame Fighting Irish football with family. She was also known for her cooking and for bringing people together through meals made with love.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Olive Querry, and her siblings, Chuck Querry, Mike Querry, and Nancy Querry.

She is survived by her children, her brother Bob (Pamela) Querry, her niece LaTasha White, and her cherished grandchildren.

Toni will be remembered for her kindness, her quiet strength, and the unconditional love she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed.
