Valina "Babe" Magdlin, 93, of Eaton Rapids, MI, formerly of the Granger area, passed away at 1:16 am, Monday, June 6, 2011 in Eaton Community Hospice House, Charlotte, MI. She was born Valina Lorea Green on September 20, 1917 to Lester and Anna (Martin) Green of Eau Claire, WI. In 1921, the family moved to the Rice Lake and Birchwood, WI area.
In 1946, she married Andrew Haas of the Birchwood area, who passed away in 1965. In 1966 she married Henry Magdlin of Rice Lake, he passed away in 1992. After his passing, she moved to the Granger area and then to the Edwardsburg area, where she remained until shortly before her death. Also preceding her in death are her parents, her sister, Alma Leary, three step daughters, Lorraine (Haas) Stackowicz, Marion (Haas) Kelly, and Althea "Dolly" (Haas) Emerson.
Valina is survived by two step daughters of the Minneapolis area, Carol (Magdlin) Hollenbeck and Diane (Magdlin) Pederson, as well as, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Babe was a sports woman, who loved to fish and hunt. She especially loved horses and black Labrador dogs.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm, on Monday, June 20, 2011 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, with one hour of visitation prior.
