Vera M. Johnson, age 93, of Elkhart, Indiana passed away at 8:00 am Saturday, September 24, 2011 at Hubbard Hill Estates of natural causes. Vera was born March 27, 1918 in Elkhart, Indiana to the late Joseph and Mary Gaspelin. She married Robert Johnson on April 5, 1939, in Elkhart. He preceded her in death, passing away in 1991.
She is survived by her son Gary Johnson, of Marcellus, Michigan. Preceding her in death were her three brothers; Walter, Joseph, and Francis V. Gaspelin.
Mrs. Johnson was a 1937 graduate of Jamestown High School. She worked in production at W.T. Armstrong in Elkhart for 15 years. She loved to go fishing, and work in the garden.
At Mrs. Johnson''s request, there will be no visitation or services. Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Osceola, Indiana is handling arrangements. In her memory, donations may be made to the local American Lung Association.
