Vernon Lee "Bump" VanDusen, age 83, of South Bend, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Kindred Health Care in Elkhart. Vernon was born Oct. 19, 1930 to the late Oscar and Laura (Browning) VanDusen. He was the youngest of four children.
Survivors include his sister, Alberta Hills of Elkhart and four generations of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Joyce VanDusen, and his brothers, Claude, Chester and Harold VanDusen.
There will be no visitation, and services will be held privately at a later date. Chapel Hill Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Harold drove truck for Steel Warehouse along with his brothers for many years. He loved to dance, and when he had the opportunity to dance with his Nurse just two weeks ago, it made his day!
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the United Cancer Service of Elkhart.
