Victoria (Vicki) Doi, of Mishawaka, IN passed away peacefully, Tuesday, February 24th, 2016 at St. Joseph Hospital after battling an ongoing illness. The world was blessed when she was born on that beautiful day on November 14, 1954 to Lewis "Frank" Edwards and Betty Jean (Wayne) Edwards at Memorial Hospital in South Bend. Vicki was a lifelong resident of Mishawaka, where she attended Penn High School. She worked at South Bend Plastics for over 25 years until the company closed. She then was employed at The South Bend Clinic where she retired in 2015. Vicki eloped and married the love of her life and best friend, Dave Doi on December 25th, 1999 in Las Vegas, NV. Vicki was a lover of adventure. She loved meeting new people, trying new things and was always the life of the party. No matter how "fashionably late" she was to any gathering, everyone was always excited to see her enter the room. Vicki enjoyed accompanying her husband on spontaneous outings, and especially the ones that involved touring the vineyards in Michigan. She was also a family woman, and held her family close to her heart. Specifically, her granddaughter, whom she bragged about and was the topic of most discussions, as she was so proud and had such a deep affection for her. Vicki was a compassionate and kind woman who always saw the beauty in life and in others. You could always count on her to give an encouraging word, loving hug and warming smile. Vicki was an amazing mother, loving wife, awesome grandmother, cool aunt, devoted sister and beautiful daughter and friend. No words could ever express how much she will be missed by all who''s lives she touched. Vicki was preceded in death by her father, Lewis Franklin Edwards, whom she missed dearly, and her brother, David Richard Barnes, Sr. She is survived by her husband, Dave Doi, mother, Betty Jean Edwards of Mishawaka, sister, Carolyn (William) Long of South Bend, brother, Lewis Franklin Edwards, Jr. of Texas, two sons, Jeremy (Jay) Tiller and Blaine (Stephanie) Tiller of Mishawaka, and the apple of her eye, her granddaughter, Victoria "Tori" Tiller. Also surviving is her favorite niece (Mini-Me) Erica Searer of Mishawaka, nephews, William Long, Jr of South Bend, Frank Long of Michigan, David (Diana) Barnes, Jr. of LaGrange, niece Estrella "Star" Barnes of Elkhart, aunts Phyllis (Raymond) Welch, Leota Jones and Cleata Caldwell all of Michigan along with many cousins, great nieces, great nephews and friends. Services will be held on Friday, March 4, 2016 at 10 AM at Willowcreek Methodist Church, 14010 East Jefferson Boulevard, Mishawaka, IN 46545 for friends and family to gather and share their love for this unique and loved soul.
