Virginia C. Comer, 90, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2016, at Hospice House in Elkhart. She was born January 7, 1926 to the late John and Hilda (Miller) Biggs in Elkhart, Indiana. Virginia graduated from Elkhart High School in 1944. She married Willard Comer on December 15, 1945 in Elkhart. He preceded her in death on July 25, 2015. Surviving are sons Steven (Darlene) Comer, Eric (Marietta) Comer, and William (Jody) Comer; daughters Nancy Miller and Sharon Gonsoroski, all of Elkhart. Also surviving are grandchildren Bradley (Tammy) Comer, Jennifer Comer, Christy Comer, Dr. Adam (Dr. Amber) Comer, Jason Schuelke, Derek (Sarah) Delcamp, Tiffany (Adam) Morningstar; eleven great-grandchildren; a brother, John (Dorothy) Biggs, of Laguna Niguel, CA; and a sister, Marilyn Schwartz, of Phoeniz, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Willard; a sister, Shirley Ermis; grandson, Jason Glaum; and granddaughter, Elizabeth Comer. Virginia was employed by CTS Corporation in Elkhart for over 20 years. She was a member of the League of Women Voters of Elkhart County, Married Women''s Club, and New Hope United Methodist Church in Elkhart. She enjoyed spending the winter months in Sebring, Florida with her husband. She also enjoyed cooking, spending time with her family, and playing pinochle with a group of close friends. Virginia will be remembered as a very caring and giving person. Friends and family may gather Wednesday, February 3, 2016 from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, IN 46561 with a funeral service starting immediately after at 2:00 pm with Rev. Andy Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice Care or donor's choice.
