W. Jean Easton, age 85, of Mishawaka, went home to be with the Lord early in the morning on Saturday, June 14, 2014 following a brief illness. Jean was born February 25, 1929 in Coalmont, Indiana to the late Walter and Ethel (Marvel) Bickel. On March 2, 1946, she married George Easton Jr. in Coalmont. He preceded her in death, passing away in November of 2010.

Surviving is her son, Dennis (Marilyn) Easton of Mishawaka, and eight grandchildren; Scott, Chris, Nathan, Judah Genny, Joel, Jessica and Julie. Also surviving are 6 great grandchildren, Aurora, Gus, Kristopher, Chloe, Gaege and Kaedyn Wachs. Jean was preceded in death by her son, George Terrell "Terry" Easton in 2009 and her brother Kenneth Dale Bickel in 2000.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola. There will also be one hour of calling prior to the 11:00 am funeral service on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Chapel Hill. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

Jean was a woman with incredible faith and trust in the Lord. She enjoyed sharing her faith with her family and those she met. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Elkhart, and later at New Life Church, Osceola. Jean spent many years as a homemaker. She loved to quilt and cook, and was also an avid reader.
