Wanda Faye Strycker of Mishawaka passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2022. Faye was born in Enville, TN on July 5, 1938 to the late James F. and Mary Lela (Lewis) Carroll. On February 24,1961, she married Larry D. Strycker at Twin City Baptist Church in Mishawaka.

She is survived by her husband, Larry; two children, LuAnn (David) Koehl, and Michael (Beth) Strycker; four grandchildren, Robert Koehl, Heather (Kevin) Koehl, Christian Strycker, and Paige Strycker. She is also survived by three sisters: Louise Conway, Thresia (Houston) Young, and Paulette (Jim) Kuzmanovich. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, James Carroll and Roy Carroll; and one sister, Sue Swihart. She also had many nieces and nephews that were very dear to her.

Faye was a very creative person. She loved to make things. She would knit, crochet and sew. She made jewelry. She would play the piano and organ at home and at church. She painted oil paintings and exhibited and sold them at local art shows.

Faye worked as a legal secretary for several area lawyers. She was very interested in genealogy and traced several family lines back hundreds of years. Faye was an avid reader and a frequent patron of the library.

A funeral service in her honor will be on Thursday August 25, 2022 at 11 AM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home 10776 McKinley Hwy., Osceola, IN 46561.  Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.  Friends may visit with the family for one hour prior to the service.
