Obituary

Wilbert "Willie" Hoover, 71, of Osceola, passed away at 12:45 pm, June 21, 2011 in his home after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Willie was born on August 1, 1939 in Wakarusa, IN to the late Russel and Sarah (Beehler) Hoover.
Willie is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Sharon (Hutchison) Hoover of Osceola, three daughters, Tanya (Dave) Massengale of Campbellsville, KY, Tami (Mike) Miller of Osceola, and Trudi Tuttle of Mishawaka, nine grandchildren, Andrew (Megan), April, and Aryn Massengale, Shane, Josh, Scottie and Timmy Miller, and Michael and Zachary Tuttle; and one great granddaughter, Bella Massengale. He is also survived by his brother, Wayne (Diane) Hoover of Sandwich, MA.
Willie graduated from Bethel College in 1961 with a Teaching degree, and from Ball State in 1965 with a Masters in Education. He taught 6th grade in the Penn Harris Madison School Corporation for 44 years.

Willie''s personal relationship with Jesus Christ was of the upmost importance to him and sustained him through his whole life. He has been a part of St. Mark Missionary Church for close to 50 years. His St. Mark family has meant a lot to him, especially during his last few months of his life.
Willie''s joy in life included camping with his wife and family, fishing, watching the Cubs with his grandsons and going to garage sales. He also enjoyed going to Bethel and Notre Dame Basketball games and going to Florida with his wife. Most of all, Willie loved people. He loved to talk, visit and laugh, making friends wherever he went. Not matter where he was, he would see someone he knew. Willie was well loved and will be missed
Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 pm, Sunday, June26, 2011 in St. Mark''s Missionary Church, 55240 Bittersweet Road, Mishawaka. Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 pm, Sunday, in the church with Rev. John Gregory officiating. A private family burial will take place. Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola is handling arrangements.
