Wilbur H. Tesch, age 88, of Kernersville, NC, formerly of Niles, MI, died Monday, Oct. 15, 2012 at his home. Wilbur was born March 2, 1924 to the late Henry and Minnie (Obert) Tesch in Livingston, IL. On Dec. 26, 1945, he married Florence M. Lewis. She preceded him in death on September 23, 1998 after 52 years of marriage.
Surviving are his children, Jim (Gloria) Tesch of Kernersville, NC, Jack (Retha) Tesch of Elkhart, IN, and Janice (Tim Quick) of Dowagiac, MI. and 6 grandchildren; Jim (Maryann) Tesch Jr., Lisa Payne, Sherri (Corry) Munson, Scott (Karla) Brown -Tesch, Faith (Kevin) Tesch-Spry, and Kristi (Daryl) Purucker. Also surviving are 14 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and a many nieces and nephews. Surviving as well are his sisters, Lorene Miller and Magdalene Reints, both of Illinois. Wilbur was preceded in death by his siblings Pearl Kutzner, Ernest, Roy, and Robert Tesch.
Visitation will be held Sunday, October 21, 2012 from 1-5 pm at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola, Indiana. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, October 22, 2012 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens where military honors will be held.
Wilbur served in the US Army during WWII before his honorable discharge in 1945. He was employed by Sunstrand in Dowagiac for over 10 years before his retirement in 1989. Wilbur enjoyed spending time with his family, and remodeling apartments in North Carolina. He also attended the Freedom Church for many years
