Obituary

William Truman Buck II, age 77, passed away March 22, 2023 in the ICU at Memorial Hospital after
battling many health issues.
William was born in South Bend, IN to William and Roseabelle (Harmon) Buck on December 10, 1945.
William's parents preceded him in death. William graduated from Mishawaka High School and joined
the US Army. He served during the Vietnam War. After the military, William worked at Miles
Laboratory later known as Bayer Laboratory. After William retired from Bayer, he finished his career
working as a warehouse manager for Sony in Fishers, IN. William retired from Sony and returned home
to Mishawaka, IN to be closer to his daughter and grandchildren.
William married Judy Arnold in 1968, they later divorced. Together they had 2 children. James William
Buck proceeded William in death in 1998. William is survived by his daughter, Christel Elizabeth (Buck)
Dorbin who was his devoted caregiver for the last 10 years of his life. He is also survived by his
grandchildren Christian Dennis Correll, Ashley (Michael) Elizabeth (Dorbin) Wallis, Cody William Dorbin,
Haylie (Jacob) (Buck) Hinsey and Noah (Kristin) Buck. William also had 4 great grandchildren William Jon
Wallis, Skylar Grace Wallis, Juliet Hinsey and James Hinsey. William is survived by his younger brother
Charles (Nikkie Mae) Buck. He is also survived by his former brother in law Frankie Arnold and his
former sister in law Linda (Joe) Tomlinson.
William was a member of and deacon at Forest Avenue Baptist Church, later New Life Baptist Church
until he moved to Avon, IN. William loved to fish, camp and watch NASCAR races along with Western
movies and zombie movies. He loved his family and spending time with them was the highlight of his
retirement. Being "Popa" was his most favorite. William kept a smile on his face, a sense of humor and
a gentle personality despite all the struggles with illness towards the end of his life. He was looked up to
by many and had a positive impact on so many people throughout his life. William will be truly missed.
The family is honoring William's wishes and there will be no public service. He will receive his military
honors at his graveside and be laid to rest at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family asks that if you

the Mama's and Papa's (Christel Dorbin).
