William E. "Butch" Kempf, Jr. 72, of Mishawaka, died Wednesday July 29, 2015. The Mishawaka native was born April 30, 1943 to William E. & ValJean (Smith) Kempf, Sr. Butch graduated from Penn High School with the Class of 1961 and on January 26, 1963 he married Sharon Doty, who preceded him in death on May 29, 2011 after 48 years of marriage. Butch had retired from the Mishawaka Police Department and was an avid NASCAR fan who enjoyed travelling to attend various races. He also enjoyed his many friends from Rock''s Caf in Mishawaka, which he frequented on a regular basis. In addition to his parents and his wife, Butch was also preceded in death by his sons, Robert A. Kempf & William E. Kempf III and most recently by his brother, Dennis Kempf. Butch is survived by his brother, Tom (Peggy) Kempf of Osceola and his nieces & nephews, Debbie (Josh) Martin of Granger, Theresa (Dave) Garmin of Goshen, Tom (Kirsten) Kempf, Jr. of Mishawaka, Dennis Kempf, Jr. of Goshen and Steve Kempf in Texas. Graveside Services 12:00 Monday, August 3, 2015 in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, with calling Monday from 10-12 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy.
