William Earl Eckert, age 76, of Union, MI, passed away on December 21, 2024. He was born on May 22, 1948, in Mishawaka, Indiana, to William Hale and Maudette Eckert.

William proudly served in the United States Air Force from June 6, 1966, to March 13, 1968. His time in the military was a defining chapter of his life, reflecting his sense of duty and commitment to his country. After his service, William transitioned into civilian life, where he became a dedicated father and continued to live a life full of integrity, kindness, and love for his family. He loved the outdoors, camping, deer hunting and his grandchildren. When not doing that he loved his western movies and the tv show mash.

William's legacy is one of loyalty, service, and devotion. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents William and Maudette, and his son William "Billy" Eckert.

He is survived by his brother David (Robyn) Eckert of White Pigeon Michigan, partner Jo Thiele of Goshen Indiana, his daughter Kathy Eckert of Union Michigan, son Brian Eckert of Sturgis Michigan, 3 granddaughters and a grandson.

A service to honor William's life and legacy will be held on January 23, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Chapel Hill funeral home in Osceola. Friends and family are invited to gather to celebrate his life and to share their memories of this remarkable man.
