William Raymond "Bill" Grossnickle, 73, of Clermont, FL, formerly of Granger, passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2011 after a long battle with Alzheimer''s disease. Bill was born on July 25, 1937 in North Manchester, IN to the late Morris Grossnickle and the late Cassie Jackson Grossnickle. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sally Grossnickle and his two sons David Grossnickle (wife Guylaine) of Burlington VT and Kenneth Grossnickle (wife Tricia) of Lyons, CO, and four grandchildren Corey, Pascale, Cameron and Kayla, and his sister, Dixie (husband Dean) Ihnkan of Elkhart, IN. He graduated with a Bachelor''s Degree from Franklin College in 1959. Bill was known in the Michiana area as the founder of several businesses including a Plainfield, IN newspaper, Owner of Gateway Super Market, author of the Home Meat Cutting book, Publisher of the Thermoset News for the Plastics Industry, Owner of the Ranch House Inn Restaurant, and he also served as a county commissioner in Cassopolis MI. He and his wife Sally were most widely known as the owners of Creative Teaching which they started in 1985 and sold in 2002. Bill was known for his good humor and ready laugh and loved Notre Dame and I.U. basketball and football.
