William "Hank" Jones died July 26, 2013 at Woodland Manor Nursing Home in Elkhart. William was born July 11, 1941 to the late Edwin and Sara (Stamper) Jones in Philadelphia, PA.
Surviving is his former wife Diane, daughter Carly C. Jones, and grandchildren; Anya Walsh, Gabriel Walsh, and Elijah Jones, all of South Bend. Also surviving are his siblings Wynn Jones and Sally Piper. Hank was preceded in death by his brother Leon Jones.
There will be a memorial service for Hank at a later date. Chapel Hill Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Hank served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, where he served two tours overseas. Hank was very fond of his "Marine Corps" family that he served proudly along side. He was employed for many years as a typewriter repairman, and later as a welder, and in his spare time, he enjoyed making wood carvings. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to his family.
