William D.C. Lowe, 81, of Elkhart, passed away at 10:00 pm, Sunday, August 9, 2009 in Woodland Manor, Elkhart. William was born on January 28, 1928 to the late Joseph and Elsie (Steinhagen) Lowe.
William is survived by a companion, Jacqueline Johnson of Mishawaka; two sons, Timothy and Craig Lowe, a daughter, Deidra; brother in law, David Johnson of South Bend; sister in law, Patricia Woods of South Bend, two nieces, Julie Medford of South Bend and Stephanie (Brad) Ellett of New Carlisle and a great niece, Annabelle Ellett.
William was a former Board of Director for the Potowatami Zoo and at one time owned a radio station. He loved raising the neighborhood children, and was known by everyone as "Uncle Bill"
A private burial will take place in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway is handling arrangements.
