Obituary

William David Miller Sr., age 61 of Granger, passed away at his home on Tuesday, August 21, 2012. Bill was born March 23, 1951 to the late David W. and Kathryn A. (Stoner) Miller in Mishawaka, Indiana. On May 22, 2010, he married Katherine J. (Dudeck) McLean.
Kathy survives, along with Bill''s children; Crystal (Sean) Horner of Granger, William (Crystal) Miller Jr. of Edwardsburg, MI, and April (Robert Moffett) Miller of South Bend, and step children Rich (Patty) Colburn Jr. of South Bend, Shannon (John Dale) Blocher, Jerry (Tammy) Colburn, and Jack (Rachel Stith) McLean Jr., all of Mishawaka, and Tony McLean of Granger. Also surviving are his siblings, Dick (Kathy) Miller of Walkerton, IN, and Linda (Bud) Richards of Cherokee, IA. Surviving as well are 13 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. Bill was preceded in death by his infant brother, Jonathan David Miller.
Visitation will be held from 12-3 pm Friday, August 24, 2012 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, with interment to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Bill was employed for over 30 years in the RV industry as a mill room worker and in the cabinet shops. He was currently enrolled in Ivy Tech College for web management and was near completion of his degree. Bill loved music. He played the bass and sang, with the Mason Dixon Band and the Spread Eagle Band. He also subbed in for several other bands in the Michiana area. His kindness and generosity showed by donating his time performing at benefits for those in need. He also enjoyed fishing with his family, and spending time woodworking in the wood shop at his home.
Bill attended the South Side Baptist Church in South Bend. In his memory, donations may be made to the Center for Hospice, or the American Cancer Society.
