William H. Owen, 82, of Elkhart, died Sunday, June 26, 2011 at home. Born in Fort Wayne on April 26, 1929 to William H. and Ruth (Daseler) Owen. A decorated US Army veteran of the Korean War, he married Alyce Lopshire in Fort Wayne on June 10, 1955. She preceded him in death on May 29, 1994. Mr. Owen retired from Miles Laboratories'' Research & Development Dept. and specialized in prototype model design. He enjoyed fishing, target shooting, his club participation with RC airplanes and looking after Meesha, the family cat. Survivors include his son, Larry R. (Marcia) Owen of Fort Wayne; his daughter, Lorraine "Lori" (Wes) King of Elkhart and his grandchildren, Jana (Adam) Lange of Indianapolis, Anthony Owen of Fort Wayne and Kyle (Johanna) Rose of Mishawaka. Funeral Services 10:00 Thursday, June 30, 2011 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy. with calling one hour prior to services. Calling also Wednesday 4-8pm at the funeral home.
