Obituary

William Lee "Wild Bill" McCaslin, age 73, of Elkhart died on August 27, 2016 at 8:35 PM at his home. He was born November 20, 1942 to William Asa and Cennie Elsie (Bean) McCaslin in Royalton Village, Illinois. On December 14, 1985, Bill married Betsy Teeter. She survives. Bill was the owner and operator of Fiber-Tron Manufacturing in Elkhart. He was a member of the New Life Center Church in South Bend. Mr. McCaslin was an accomplished, self taught lead guitarist who used his knowledge of music to learn to play many other instruments and was a licensed minister of music as well. He belonged to the "Red Coats" when he was younger and recorded 2 records with the group in Chicago. One of these recordings was played on American Bandstand. Bill also performed on the local TV program of "Who''s Your Favorite". He enjoyed watching SonLife ministries with Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart, fishing, and Notre Dame Football. Bill is survived by his wife of 30 years, Betsy; his children, William Lee McCaslin Jr., and Melissa (Todd) Lee Scott both of Elkhart, Marina Renaldi of Mishawaka, Tony (Christina) Pabon, Kourtnie McCaslin, and Keriah McCaslin all of Elkhart; 19 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Janet McCaslin of Elkhart, Daisy (Brian) Bright of Niles, MI, Sharon Hill of Mishawaka, and Michael (Carol) McCaslin of South Bend. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Judy Pierce McCaslin; and his brother, Ron "Jake" McCaslin. Family and friends will be received on Thursday, September 1, 2016 from 4-8 PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, IN 46561. There will be a funeral service in Mr. McCaslin''s honor Friday, September 2, 2016 at 10 AM with Pastor Mark Johnson from the David''s House Ministry officiating at the funeral home with visitation one hour prior to the service.
